Suicide bombing targets paramilitary forces HQ in Balochistan’s Quetta, at least six dead

A major suicide bombing has struck Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province, targeting the headquarters of the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC). The attack, which occurred near Jinnah Road around 12:15 pm on Tuesday (September 30), has left more than six people dead and several others injured, according to initial reports.Police confirmed that among the deceased were at least three Frontier Corps personnel. The attacker reportedly rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the main gate of the FC headquarters before detonating it. A gunfight followed the explosion, intensifying the chaos in the area.
Eyewitnesses said the blast was so powerful it was heard several miles away, spreading panic not only in the immediate vicinity but across the city. Locals described scenes of fear and confusion as smoke billowed from the site.
Emergency response teams, including fire brigades and ambulances, rushed to the scene. The injured are being transported to nearby hospitals, while security forces have cordoned off the area. Investigators from various agencies are now collecting evidence to determine the nature and perpetrators of the attack.As of now, no group has claimed responsibility.

The attack underscores the fragile security situation in Balochistan, a province long plagued by insurgency, sectarian violence, and militant activity.
