Date:

US-Iran-Israel War Live Updates: Iran warned it will shut the Strait of Hormuz ‘completely’ and hit regional infrastructure after US President Donald Trump threatened to strike Iranian power plants amid escalating West Asia conflict.

US-Iran-Israel War Live Updates: The Iran-United States-Israel war has continued to intensify, with Tehran warning of sweeping retaliation if its energy infrastructure is targeted, spreading tensions across the wider West Asia region.Iran said it would “completely shut” the Strait of Hormuz and retaliate against energy and water infrastructure across the region if the United States launches strikes on Iranian power plants.

The threat followed a sharp statement from US President Donald Trump, who warned Tehran of severe consequences if the strategic waterway is not reopened.

“If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST!” Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social.

Israeli officials said Iran had fired long-range missiles for the first time since the current escalation began on February 28, raising fears that the conflict could extend beyond West Asia.

Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir said Iran launched two ballistic missiles with a range of about 4,000 kilometres towards the US-UK military base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

Israeli forces destroyed the Qasimiyah Bridge in southern Lebanon, which Lebanese President Joseph Aoun described as a “prelude to ground invasion”, as per Al Jazeera. Meanwhile, air strikes reportedly targeted the headquarters of the Iran-aligned Popular Mobilisation Forces in Baghdad following attacks on a US diplomat and a logistics centre at the Iraqi capital’s main airport.
