Travis Kelce’s ex-partner drops cryptic note after Taylor Swift engagement: ‘Stop playing with me’

Days after NFL player Travis Kelce and pop sensation Taylor Swift got engaged, his ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole shared a cryptic post on social media.With a beautiful garden proposal and an Instagram post that said, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Kelce announced his engagement to Swift on August 26. The massive old-mine brilliant-cut diamond ring, which garnered notice and made headlines all over the world, was co-designed by Kelce.

Meanwhile, Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, shared what appeared to be a scathing video from the gym three days after the engagement announcement, according to Page Six.

With Gunna’s song “Made for This S**t” playing in the background, the sports writer shared a strenuous leg and glute workout. The strong text that appeared over the video read, “The goal? A back that says stop f–king playing with me.” Her post was published at the same time that the engagement news was making headlines.Nicole posted a video of actress Tracee Ellis Ross contemplating the difference between joy and happiness on the day of Kelce and Swift’s engagement announcement. She mentioned the book ‘Choose Joy: Because Happiness Isn’t Enough’ and wrote that she ‘aspired’ to that kind of joy.

In the video, actress Tracee Ellis Ross said, “I work at it,” before adding, “I think joy is different from happiness. I feel like happiness is something you can get at 7-Eleven, and joy is something that you earn and work for and takes practice.”“I feel like joy has legs,” she continued in the longer version. “I feel like joy has feet… I feel like joy creates space and allows room for more than just a good day… I think joy is a perspective, and I think joy is a lens through which I experience and look at my life.”

Kelce, 35, and Nicole, 33, had an inconsistent relationship from 2017 until 2022. The Kansas City Chiefs star began dating Swift, 35, in July 2023.

Despite the split and the media attention, Nicole has made an effort to remain upbeat and acknowledged that it has been quite difficult to deal with the public separation.

Nicole addressed the emotional toll of their public split on ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test’ Season 3’, admitting that she often questioned her own value due to repeated comparisons to Swift, as per Decider.

Notwithstanding the criticism, Nicole made it clear that she had no animosity against Swift, even stating, “I really like her. I think she’s very talented.”

Following the engagement announcement, Nicole also took some time to celebrate personal family news. She revealed that her younger sister, Layla, was moving to Langston University to play women’s basketball, according to The New York Post.
