Trump says he will make America a great automaker again

Date:

In his inaugural speech as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump announced plans to dismantle key environmental policies, including ending the Green New Deal and revoking the electric vehicle (EV) mandate. The measures, he said, aim to revitalise the American auto industry.

“Today, we will end the green New Deal, and we will revoke the electric vehicle mandate, saving our auto industry and keeping my sacred pledge to our great American autoworkers,” Trump declared from the Capitol.

Trump promised greater freedom of choice for consumers and a resurgence in domestic automobile production. “In other words, you’ll be able to buy the car of your choice,” he said. “We will build automobiles in America again at a rate that nobody could have dreamt possible just a few years ago.”
Trump also expressed gratitude to autoworkers, attributing part of his electoral success to their support. “And thank you to the autoworkers of our nation for your inspiring vote of confidence,” he added.
