A UK Navy F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Saturday night (June 14) after reportedly running low on fuel.Sources said the aircraft, believed to have taken off from an aircraft carrier, landed safely around 9:30 pm.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) confirmed on Sunday that it was “fully aware” of the diversion and had facilitated the landing for flight safety reasons. An IAF spokesperson described it as a “normal occurrence of diversion by F-35” and said the IAF is coordinating with all agencies to provide necessary support.
The aircraft remains parked at the airport.
