US-Iran War Live Updates | Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon killed 13 people on Tuesday, according to Lebanon’s health ministry. Those killed included two rescuers responding to an earlier strike in Nabatieh and a wounded person they were trying to evacuate.Lebanon said 380 people have been killed in intensified Israeli attacks since the April 17 ceasefire. Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem said the group would turn the battlefield into “hell” for Israeli forces.

According to reports, classified US intelligence assessments found Iran still retains major missile capabilities. About 70% of its mobile launchers and pre-war missile stockpile remain operational, while access has been restored to 30 of 33 missile sites along the Strait of Hormuz.

Australia said it will join a French- and British-led “strictly defensive” mission to secure shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Canberra will also deploy a surveillance aircraft to help protect the United Arab Emirates from Iranian drone attacks.

Oil prices rose as US-Iran talks remained stalled and tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz stayed disrupted. Brent crude climbed 3.4% to $107.77 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate rose 4.2% to $102.18.

Iran rejected Kuwait’s accusation that four Iranian officers tried to infiltrate Bubiyan Island, calling the claim “absolutely baseless.” Tehran said the officers entered Kuwaiti waters because of navigation system disruptions.

US President Donald Trump said he would discuss Iran with Chinese President Xi Jinping, but insisted the US had Iran “very much under control.”

US inflation rose to 3.8% in April from 3.3% in March, reaching a three-year high amid the economic fallout from the conflict. The Pentagon said the war’s cost has risen to nearly $29 billion.

Iranian negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Washington must accept Tehran’s “14-point proposal” or face “one failure after another.”
