US Senate confirms Tulsi Gabbard as head of US intelligence agencies

Tulsi Gabbard, President Donald Trump’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence, received final Senate approval on Wednesday to lead and coordinate the efforts of America’s 18 intelligence agencies.
Gabbard’s appointment followed a concerted pressure campaign by Trump allies, including Elon Musk, which ultimately secured Republican support.The Office of the Director of National Intelligence was established in response to intelligence failures revealed by the September 11, 2001, attacks.
