Varroc Engineering bags $48 million deal to make electric vehicle chargers for global car maker

Varroc Engineering Ltd  on Tuesday, February 3,  announced a strategic contract win with a leading global electric vehicle (EV) original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for the supply of AC bi-directional wall chargers for electric vehicles. The agreement marks a key step in Varroc’s expansion within the global electric mobility ecosystem.Under the contract, Varroc will supply Energy Star-compliant AC bi-directional wall chargers, designed to offer high stability, advanced safety features and seamless EV charging performance. The chargers will be manufactured at the company’s facility in Romania, in line with global quality and delivery standards.

The programme is expected to run for six years, with Varroc establishing peak annual manufacturing capacity aligned to the OEM’s projected volumes. At peak capacity, the estimated annual business value is ₹4,391 million, equivalent to approximately $48 million, the company said.
Commenting on the development, Dhruv Jain, CEO – Business II, Varroc, said the contract win highlights the company’s focus on delivering advanced electronics solutions to global OEM partners. He added that Varroc looks forward to collaborating closely with the automotive ecosystem to enable safe, smart and sustainable mobility solutions worldwide.The latest order strengthens Varroc’s presence in the global passenger vehicle electronics market and aligns with its strategic roadmap to scale growth across advanced safety, lighting and electric powertrain solutions. The company said the partnership reinforces its position as a trusted Tier-1 supplier of advanced automotive technologies.

Varroc Engineering continues to invest in automotive electronics and product development capabilities to address rising global demand for e-mobility, connectivity and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The company said its integrated manufacturing and engineering capabilities position it well to support OEMs as the shift towards electrification accelerates across global markets.

Varroc Engineering shares closed 1.89% higher at ₹580 on the NSE on Tuesday.
