Vikran Engineering secures 45.75 MW solar projects in Madhya Pradesh

Date:

Vikran Engineering Ltd on Friday, December 26, said it has accepted letters of award from MP Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd for setting up grid-connected solar power projects with a total capacity of 45.75 MW (AC) in Madhya Pradesh.

The awards, accepted on December 26, relate to the implementation of solar photovoltaic power plants under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeders Scheme, with feeder solarisation as part of the PM-KUSUM programme.

The power generated from these projects will be sold to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Ltd (MPPMCL), stated the company in its exchange filing.

The projects will be developed in Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh, with Vikran Engineering acting as the renewable power generator responsible for the implementation and operation of the solar plants.

The contracts have been awarded by a domestic entity and are for a period of 25 years. Tariffs for the projects are in the range of ₹2.75-2.80 per unit, the company said.

The projects are part of efforts to promote feeder-level solarisation for agricultural power supply and reduce dependence on conventional energy sources in the state, said the company.

Shares of Vikran Engineering Ltd ended lower on Friday, December 26, by ₹100.75 on the NSE.
