As the war shows no real signs of ending anytime soon, major players in West Asia and beyond are seeking to reduce their dependence on the Strait of Hormuz and other strategic choke points through the development of new trade routes, economic corridors and pipelines, writes former diplomat Amb. Anil Trigunayat.

It was generally expected by US and Israel that their war on Iran will be over in a week or so. Many a time they came close to agreeing to a reasonable framework since April 7, but deep trust deficit driven by trying to get the best kill with maximalist demands has carried it beyond 100 days despite a prevailing yet highly volatile and fragile ceasefire.
