Adani Green Energy commissions 50 MW solar plant in Gujarat’s Khavda

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has operationalised a 50 MW solar power project at Khavda in Gujarat, further expanding its renewable energy portfolio and bringing its total operational renewable generation capacity close to the 20 GW milestone.In an exchange filing on Monday, the company said the project was commissioned through its wholly owned step-down subsidiary, Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Five Ltd. Based on the necessary regulatory clearances, the plant was operationalised and commenced power generation from June 1, 2026.

With the commissioning of the latest project, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has reached 19,835.8 MW. Its total operational battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity stands at 3,366 MWh.
The latest addition comes as the company continues to scale up capacity at Khavda, which has emerged as the centrepiece of its renewable energy expansion strategy.
Earlier in April, AGEL said its operational capacity rose 35% year-on-year to 19.3 GW in FY26 after adding 5.1 GW of greenfield renewable energy capacity during the financial year. The company operationalised 4,613 MW of capacity at Khavda alone, including solar, wind and hybrid projects.During FY26, AGEL commissioned 3,412 MW of solar projects, 683 MW of wind projects and 956 MW of hybrid projects. It also operationalised 1,376 MWh of battery energy storage capacity at Khavda, which the company described as among the world’s largest single-location BESS deployments.

Energy sales increased 34% year-on-year to 37,567 million units in FY26, supported by the sharp rise in operational capacity.

Adani Green Energy is one of India’s largest renewable energy companies and develops, owns and operates utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid and energy storage projects across the country.

As of 1:40 PM, shares of Adani Green Energy were trading at ₹1,452.60 on the NSE, down 1.55% for the day.
