Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei on Thursday (February 19) said the main areas of concern for the company are fully autonomous weapons with no humans in the loop and mass surveillance. The company has built models for US national security, he said.
Amodei is in New Delhi for the AI Impact Summit 2026. He said red lines are important so AI can be used in the right way. “These red lines are fairly important for us and for democracy, in line with the culture of our company.”
He said the benefits of AI in the Global South are more pronounced than anywhere else in the world, emphasising that India’s considerable technical expertise and eagerness to adopt AI present significant growth potential.
Stating that AI can be used to accelerate economic growth if the AI developers and those who do the actual medical research can work together in India, which has a large population base.
