India is already shipping fuel to neighbours Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka and has received a request from the Maldives as well.
India, which depends on the Strait of Hormuz for 40% of its crude imports, has been invited by Britain and France to join their initiative to open the key conduit, Jaiswal told reporters during a briefing.
