Israel’s manufacturers eye collaboration with India to increase output manifold

Date:

President of the Manufacturers Association of Israel, Dr. Ron Tomer described potential collaboration with India as vital to increase industrial output manifold. He said that production levels in India are scalable up to 10 times the current levels even as manufacturers in the West Asian country are looking for joint manufacturing and marketing with India.

Stating that while his association aims to increase manufacturing in Israel, he pointed out that the Jewish nation of 10 million people will shortly reach the ceiling of its industrial output, at the most double or triple of the current levels.
Speaking to CNBC-TV18 on the sidelines of the India-Israel Business Summit in Tel Aviv, he cited immense potential for collaboration in the defence industry despite differences in size, population, and temper of both the countries, which he described on a lighter note that Israel is “very outspoken while India is much more relaxed.” Among commonalities, he said that both the countries are striving to grow their economies, even as he described India as strong in Asia and Africa and Israel as the gateway to the US with the minimum tariff possible.Highlighting opportunities for defence industry collaboration based on the successful demonstration of Israel’s defence products during the war in the last 2 years, he called for utilization of potential in businesses like pharma, food tech, agro tech, cyber security, and software.
