CEO of Manus Xiao Hong said, “Joining Meta allows us to build on a stronger, more sustainable foundation without changing how Manus works or how decisions are made.”Manus said it will continue to operate and sell its subscription-based service, even as its technology is integrated into Meta’s ecosystem. The startup will also continue to be based in Singapore.
Founded by Hong, Manus launched its first general AI agent earlier this year. The company, which develops general-purpose AI agents designed to handle research, automation and complex workflows, claims its system has already processed more than 147 trillion tokens and powered the creation of over 80 million virtual computers, serving millions of users and businesses globally.

Meta said the acquisition will help scale Manus’ technology to a wider user base, including businesses, while integrating its capabilities across consumer and enterprise products such as Meta AI. Manus’ engineering and research team will also join Meta as part of the deal.
The deal stresses Meta’s growing focus on agent-based AI systems that can carry out multi-step tasks with minimal human intervention, an area that has become a key battleground among global tech companies. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
