Ramesh Damani, Utpal Sheth, Madhu Kela’s fund buy Prime Focus shares in Friday’s block deal

A clutch of market veterans from Ramesh Damani to a fund owned by Madhusudan Kela and Utpal Sheth, were buyers of the Prime Focus shares that were sold in last Friday’s block deal, by Augusta Investments I Pte. Ltd. and Marina IV (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.According to data from the exchanges, Ramesh Damani bought 8 lakh shares of Prime Focus at a price of ₹142.55 while Utpal Sheth bought 17.5 lakh shares at the same price.

Singlarity Large Value Fund I, a fund owned by Madhusudan Kela, bought 62.5 lakh shares in the block deal. Augusta Investments I Pte. Ltd. sold 54.4 lakh shares, while Marina IV (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. and Marina IV LP sold 38.9 lakh and 9.15 lakh shares of the company respectively.

Samyak Enterprises and FE Securities were some of the other buyers in the block deal with a purchase of over 7 lakh shares each.Neither Ramesh Damani, nor Utpal Sheth or Madhusudan Kela’s fund had any prior stake in Prime Focus as per the June shareholding pattern.

Promoters of the company had a 67.6% stake as of June, whereas Mutual Funds did not have any significant holding in the ₹4,900 crore market capitalisation company.

Augusta Investments I Pte. Ltd. had a 8.86% stake in Prime Focus as of June, while Marina IV (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. had a 7.55% stake.

Shares of Prime Focus had ended in a 10% upper circuit on Friday at ₹158.37. The stock has gained 13% so far in 2025.
