The uncertainty comes against the backdrop of renewed military tensions over the past weekend despite a ceasefire memorandum signed earlier this month. Iran had targeted ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz and insisted that vessels coordinate with the Revolutionary Guard while using routes close to Iran’s southern coast.
Elsewhere in the region, tensions remain elevated after Lebanese state media reported an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon despite a framework accord signed last week.
