Trump says will boost trade with both India and Pakistan, praises leadership for halting aggression

Date:

US President Donald Trump on Sunday praised the leadership of India and Pakistan for agreeing to stop the current aggression and called their decision “historic and heroic.” In a post on his social media platform TruthSocial, Trump commended the “strength, wisdom, and fortitude” shown by both sides in halting hostilities.

“I am very proud of the strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership of India and Pakistan for having the strength, wisdom, and fortitude to fully know and understand that it was time to stop the current aggression that could have lead to the death and destruction of so many, and so much. Millions of good and innocent people could have died! Your legacy is greatly enhanced by your brave actions,” he wrote.
Trump also expressed pride in the United States’ role in facilitating the agreement and announced plans to “substantially” increase trade with both countries.“While not even discussed, I am going to increase trade, substantially, with both of these great Nations,” the post read.

He further said he would work with both countries to explore a resolution to the Kashmir issue. “Additionally, I will work with you both to see if, after a ‘thousand years,’ a solution can be arrived at concerning Kashmir,” Trump added, concluding his message with: “God Bless the leadership of India and Pakistan on a job well done!!!”
