US-Iran War Live Updates: The US-Iran war threatened to further choke global energy supplies on Thursday, July 23, as Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis claimed attacks on two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, while American forces launched a 12th consecutive night of strikes on Iran.US Central Command said the latest operation targeted Iranian military sites and was intended to weaken Tehran’s ability to threaten civilian mariners and commercial shipping. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that Tehran would respond to attacks in kind, writing: “Our defense doctrine is clear: eye for an eye.”

The widening tension pushed Brent crude 1.4% higher to above $95 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate traded close to $88.

In Washington, the House narrowly adopted a Republican-backed $95 billion budget proposal to fund the war and other White House priorities by 216 votes to 214. The measure faces scepticism in the Senate.

Meanwhile, US intelligence analysts are investigating whether Russia provided targeting information or advanced drone technology used in Iranian attacks on CIA facilities in the Gulf, Reuters reported, citing four people familiar with the assessment.
